  • We have plenty of parking at our office complex parking lot.

  • My current office is upstairs in our building. There is no elevator access.

  • Call me at (615) 656-4452 to request your complimentary 20-minute session. If you leave a message, please know that I will do my best to call you back ASAP.

I generally don’t check my voicemail over the weekends.

  • I work with adults and children ranging from 6-12 years of age

  • I’m a Christian who is a counselor. If you’d like to bring faith into therapy, we can do so. Just tell me. I want to respect personal boundaries regarding faith and religion.

  • Intake, individual, and family sessions are 50 minutes.

  • I accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards, including Health Savings Account (HSA) cards.

  • I’m an out-of-network provider licensed to practice in Indiana and Tennessee.

I encourage you to reach out to your insurance provider before beginning therapy to clarify your benefits, as you are responsible for payment for your sessions.

I can provide a superbill and a receipt for services to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Included in the superbill is your mental health diagnosis, which will become part of your medical record.

  • I require a 24-hour cancellation notice prior to our scheduled session time. This notice allows me to contact another client on my waiting list.

Sessions not canceled prior to the 24-hour window will result in a charge for the full session fee.

  • This time allows us to get to know each other, understand what brings you to therapy, and discuss what work you’d like to do. You may also use it to ask me questions to get to know me and my work.

At the end of our call, you’ll be able to decide whether therapy is right for you with your situation and whether we’re a good fit.

If you’d like to proceed with scheduling, we can discuss our next steps.

  • Yes! Yes! Yes!

I love working with diverse backgrounds and learning about other cultures and beliefs. You might need to help me out a bit on the way; however, rest assured, I want to understand your culture.

  • Lots and lots of listening. I want to understand you, and one of the greatest joys of this work is hearing your story!

We might use evidence-based modalities to help you understand your experiences and how they impact your daily life.

If you ever have questions about what we’re doing in a session, I’m always open to listen and answer them.

  • It really depends on you, your child’s, and your family’s needs.

Therapy is highly individualized, and I don’t use a “one size fits all” approach. We’ll discuss your specific progress and goals throughout the therapy process.

  • Maybe, but it’s Ok. I have plenty of Kleenex.

  • EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy, focuses on how past disturbing events or other related events influence current situations and cause distress.

Have you ever reacted to something intensely and are curious about why?

One of the therapies I like to use most, EMDR, can help you understand the connection between the past and present.

Although it’s not for everyone and sounds a little strange at first, I have found it very effective in my personal therapy and have observed some amazing results with clients.

If you’re interested, let’s talk about it.

  • I sure do!

I use a HIPAA-compliant platform (a fancy way of saying it’s private and protected) from TherapyNotes.

Virtual therapy works just like face-to-face therapy, except we may both be sitting in our workout pants, pajama pants, or fuzzy slippers.

  • Certainly, if you want to – I have comfy blankets, too.

However, it’s not the type of therapy in which you lie down on a couch, stare at the ceiling, and talk about your childhood while I sit behind you, constantly muttering, “Hmmm,” as I scribble on a note pad.

I do take notes, though, to help me remember what you’ve said.

  • My specialties include assessing and treating children, adolescents, and adults with depression, anxiety, ADHD, bereavement, anger management, and trauma. I’m trained in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trust-Based Relational Interventions (TBRI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting and attachment-based interventions.
